Grier, a two-way power forward who's dangerous around the net, was drafted by the St. Louis
Blues in the ninth round (219th overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.  That came at the start
of a celebrated three-year career (1993-96) at Boston University.  In 1994-95, Grier earned
Hockey East All-Star and first-team All-America honors while helping lead the Terriers to the
NCAA National Championship.  That season, Grier tallied 29 goals and 26 assists in 37
games.  On Aug 4, 1995 St. Louis traded his rights to Edmonton along with Curtis Joseph for
1st round choices in 1996 and 1997.  The winger broke in with Edmonton in 1996-97, scoring
15 goals and dishing out 17 assists in 79 games.  He beat Patrick Roy on the power play
Oct. 26, 1996, for his first NHL goal.  In 2001-02, Grier registered eight goals and 17 assists
in 82 games.
