A smallish, but gritty playmaking center, Marchant has speed to burn, especially going to the outside of a defender.  Has no fear in the face of larger opponents and will go in areas others his size fear to tread.  Played for Team USA in the 1994 Olympics.  Originally drafted by the Rangers, Marchant played one game with the Blue shirts before being dealt to the Oilers for Craig MacTavish.
