Huge and fearless, Laraque is thriving
on the Oilers' checking line as he gets used to the NHL game. A scorer
in Juniors with three different QMJHL teams, Laraque gets most of his points
from hard work in the corners and in the ugly areas around the goal mouth.

Scouting Report
(from TSN): |
Assets: Has
the ability to utilize his tremendous size to create space for both himself
and linemates. Is underrated in his ability to handle the puck and one
of the toughest guys in the NHL. |
Flaws: His
skating is improving but still below NHL standards. Must watch his weight
in order to maximize his strength and stamina. |
Career potential:
Laraque's
a valuable fourth-line player, whether he drops the gloves or not. He can
dominate along the boards and come out with the puck time and again. Laraque
will continue to make his presence felt in the Western Conference. |
